I have a few things that I could write about, but I'm not a very good writer so I keep putting it off. In the meantime, may I present some photos of my "semi-wild" garden from over the past few months.
The path from my driveway up towards the door.
Daylilies and hosta blooming, early July.
Closeup of wildflowers - I think that these are Daisy fleabane (Erigeron annuus).
Berry on a honeysuckle bush, with a small insect just to the left.
Lilac flowers in May.
My entire lilac bush in bloom.
Seeds developing on a Red Maple in May.
Siberian Iris
Pink geraniums and forget-me-nots
Closeup of an unknown variety of iris
Spiderwort (Tradescentia)
Yellow irises (unknown variety) next to my driveway

Hello RP : )
These pictures are beautiful !
I especially love the shot of the random path stones leading to the house .. it is like a secret garden way. Those iris are gorgeous .. I have one bearded iris, "Midnight Oil" which still has not bloomed yet (2years) what am I doing wrong I wonder .. I am not a fan of bearded iris but that dark colour grabbed my attention .. any suggestions ?

Hmmm.I was following the history link and came upon your semi wild garden Very nice. I have several wildflowers gardens myself by way of cutting down on mowing the lawn and wasting gas... :)
Joy - thank you! I can't offer any recommendations on the iris - all of my irises were "inherited" and have flowered well without any special intervention on my part!
troutbirder - thank you, it does help to have garden space that cuts down on the amount of grass that one has to mow. Some people love having perfect green lawns, but I find lawns rather dull compared to gardens!
Hello again RP (Aug 13 Monday)
Thanks for stopping by my blog again : ) Yes .. it is amazing what my older Olympus can capture with the moon. I can't stop taking pictures of it when it is hanging in the sky inviting me in ? LOL
I hope you are feeling well and enjoying your garden !

Lovely clicks indeed. I really love looking at those blooms for they are really stunning. Thanks a lot for the share.
Hello again RP .. just checking up on you ;-)
The evening are a little cooler .. the early mornings are too .. I spent over 3 hours watering the garden by hand .. next year husband and I both swear a drip irrigation system will be put in !
The summers are not going to change .. but it would be too funny if we get this done and we have a wet summer ? LOL
Joy : )
PS .. the trees in this are are so stressed from the drought .. I am worried there will be no "colour" show ...
Joy - If you've been spending that much time watering, drip irrigation might be a good idea. We've been lucky here - the earlier part of the summer was a little dry, but we've gotten a decent amount of rain lately, so we don't have the drought conditions that so much of the US and Canada have been going through.
I hope you have nice fall color regardless of the weather!
Wow.. these are amazing garden pictures. I totally love gardening... specially on planting some flowers.

RP ! ... Thank you so much for dropping by my blog with your kind comments .. I have been in such a low dip lately .. I know you have had such difficult times yourself too.
Looking back at these pretty pictures from your garden is a treat and makes me think that the possibility of Spring might just come true?
We have a pair of Mourning Doves nesting on the side of our house .. they are such shy and gentle creatures we have to be careful not to watch them too much or they become skittish ?
Still loads of snow here .. so I just have to grit my teeth and get on with other things I should be getting done while I wait for Spring.
I hope you are well ? and Spring is just around the corner as they say? for you too!

Hello again RPS ... Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on my retrospect of 2013 garden year. Yes we too have had false warm weather which is not great for the plants .. but time seems to be passing faster (I guess since the renos occupy us so much in good and bad ways .. talk about the money pit!) .. I am waiting for my favorite mail order garden company to go on line with her plants so I can stroll along the listigns and drool ! haha
Hope you are feeling well ? maybe planning some garden adventures for 2014 too ?
Take care ! Joy : )
